Emily Gary
Pianist / Accompianist
Emily Gary serves as our pianist, sharing her musical gifts to help lead and support our worship services. Through her thoughtful and beautiful playing, she enhances the music ministry of Grace Presbyterian Church and helps create a meaningful worship experience for our congregation.
Mrs. Gary began her piano study at the age of 7 in Birmingham, AL, where she was raised. She studied at the Birmingham Southern Conservatory. She earned her BM in Piano Performance from the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, AL and then her MM in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Baylor University. She continued post graduate studies toward her Doctorate in Musical Arts at the University of Oklahoma. She has her teaching certificate for the state of Texas and has taught elementary school through high school public school music.
She taught piano at the University of Montevallo, Baylor University, the University of Oklahoma, Temple College and the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. She and her husband Jonathan are the founders and instructors of Gary Music Studio. Emily is a member of the Central Texas Music Teachers Association, Texas Music Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association, and the American Music Therapy Association. Emily is also an active church musician, collaborative pianist and is the pianist at Grace Presbyterian Church. Additionally, she is currently pursuing certification to become licensed music therapist.
